Grounding diagram
Hello mates!
Way back 2 years ago(:rolleyes , I saw a thread...or link here in cbr250.com showing the grounding diagram of a CBR400. As far as I remember, the grounding makes the bike perform better maintain Regulator/rectifier in good condition. There is a picture I even saved before my computer crash more than a year from now. I hope anyone could help me out as I sort what's making my CB-1's idling erratic after the carb synchro and valve adjustments. thank you in advance... |

RE: Grounding diagram
have a look in the maintenance thread, it states that grounding doesnt help the cbr250, and it was a myth..
cant see why it would be any different to the 400.. but yeah, have a look here it is http://cbr250.com/forum/thread-302.html ![]() Quote:"You live more for 5 minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life." Marco Simoncelli |

RE: Grounding diagram
Grounding really only helps with Fuel injected systems or data logging.
The main benefits you can do with the CBR is Ignition power via relay from the battery and good grounding on the engine from the battery; ie no corrosion and loose connections. If you can't find the diagram (which I remeber seeing) PM Tony - Ecliptech. I'm sure he wrote it. Wayne.......... Riderlogic Facebook Page Here - Motorcycle data logging and Analysis |

RE: Grounding diagram
Hi Mates! Thanks for all your inputs! I was referring to the grounding of the rectifier. It was like instead of having the red and black wires connected to where it originally is, I could connect it directly to the frame and the battery.Likewise, there is a pictures somewhere here before showing the engine (front -- near the exhaust) connected to the frame and the frame grounding connected to the Carbs and the like...
I saw one similar to what I was trying to find on my long stay online http://eviltwinsbk.com/forumz/index.php?topic=276.0 but not the grounding from engine to carbs to chassy... |

RE: Grounding diagram
I don't think what your talking about is "grounding". But rather just improving the wire gauge. If you want improvements, then install new wires for the alternator to reg/rec, and reg/rec to battery. I wouldn't worry about additional grounding to the chassis. Doesn't need it there. The only other real benefit is a relay feed to the coil for the power. But that's only going to make starting a little easier (given battery isn't in that good of shape). Otherwise, a headlight switch will give just as good of an improvement for easier starting.
Don't chase myths and waste time adding chunky wires. |
