Well chaps, I've had many bikes and changed brake pads many times, but I've never actually come across brake squeal until now.

Installed some new ferodo pads on my R6 and mother of mercy if they aren't annoying.

The squeal like a pig in heat when I brake at anything above medium pressure.

I've had them out several times to sand them, I've cleaned down the callipers, i've tried the pads with and without the backing plates and I've even sprayed anti-squeal onto the brake parts but to no avail.

Is it a common Ferodo problem, or is there something else I should try?

They also produce quite alot of vibration or judder under very heavy braking.

Brake squeal is caused from the pads vibrating at a high frequency. It can be an absolute bitch to track down Sad

Did they squeal right from the very start?

Someone may chirp up and tell me this is a stupid suggestion, but perhaps try swapping the pads? Ie, pads from LHS caliper to RHS and vice-versa.

I had a similar issue when I moved to SBS pads. The SBS pads only squeel when they're not up to temp yet.

Shit me up the wall when I briefly had the bike on the road but they're fine on the track.

If it's juddering and vibrating sounds like something is out of balance or alignment which could be causing uneven contact with the disk and therefore squeeking? Sticky piston?

i always re-use the stock shims on new pads.... helps to 'spring load' the pads in the callipers and minimise any movement.

check your stock pads and see if the shims are there... take them off and stick em on the new pads and see if that helps...

I've always heard of them referred to as anti-squeal pads/plates (or more commonly just squeal pads/plates).
