What I think will be interesting is that this election may change the future of Australia's voting in that this was really the first time the Greens were ever given a chance, so time for them to stand up and make use of what they've got to see whether they could become serious contenders

Actually I think this is a good example of why our voting system needs a solid overhaul. How many people out there, honestly, do you think understand how the government of the day is formed, how the preference system works etc? It needs to be more simple so that everyone understands where their vote is going.

I agree Girly, either that or make voting voluntary. Labor didn't have a representative handing out how to vote cards at my local polling place, and after a good bitch and cry to the supervisor about it (who is party impartial and has nothing to do with it...) the old man in front of me screwed up his ballot papers and threw them in the bin. That's a lot of fail.

I filtered Conroy, and numbering the boxes 1-80 was a chore, and one that I could see a lot of people fucking up. Not to mention that the average Aussie wouldn't even have a fucking clue who half of the people on the paper even are.

Needs an overhaul.

Personally, I think the NBN if it ever gets off the ground, will fall to the shit...

I'm all for faster internetz, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon with crap load of money pissed down the drain getting it to happen.
