RE: Update on the MC22 project :)
Are you 100% sure the leads are correct? Were the carbs seated on the manifold rubbers properly? How's the battery charge? Remember you'll have to wait until the float bowls have fuel in them too. Try spraying a little bit of throttle body cleaner down the throat of her and see if she coughs. or if you have any start ya bastard, etc.

Connecting the fuel line to a funnel and adding fuel that way will not have flooded it, norp. Did you use any choke?

RE: Update on the MC22 project :)
Yep, Double and triple checked the leads...
Yep, double checked the carbie was seated on the manifold correctly too Smile
The battery was shot, so connected it via jumper cables to my dads ride-on lawnmower, so there was certainly plenty of juice going through it Smile

One of the things I noticed, when i poured fuel in the funnel through the middle hose, the other two hoses on either side were overflowing (is this normal, as I didn't think it was). I poured a little fuel down the throat to see if she would cough and start that way (albeit only a very little bit of fuel).

The guy previous to me said that she needed full throttle and choke to start, so i tried with just a little throttle, full throttle and full throttle + choke - obviously time to rest in-between... I even moved the throttle stop screw to see if that had an impact, which it didnt.

RE: Update on the MC22 project :)
Tried again over the weekend to get her started, the carbies seem to be ok, filled fuel via the funnel and didn't come out any of the overflows and the fuel is staying constant in the funnel...

Might be something electric Sad Sounds like she wants to start, got a rumble a couple of times, but nothing after that Sad Had a backfire out the exhaust too with a bit of a flame!

Not sure where to on it now Sad

RE: Update on the MC22 project :)
hahaha, is that supposed to be encouragement?? lol..

Yeah, its a bit crappy really... want to get onto doing the rest of the bike Sad

One question I do have though, should there be 1 pulse generator? I think the photo in the book has two and mine only has one... pulled off the cover and had a look at it, cleaned it up, etc too..

Cleaned all the connections I could also find too, the only one that i didn't check was the sidestand, however it should still start though despite what thats doing if its in neutral!!

RE: Update on the MC22 project :)
Try new plugs, could be well fouled up.
Also try to push start her.
Have a look at the official my bike won't start thread.

RE: Update on the MC22 project :)
to sum up what Reaper is saying with his picture of Jessice Biel...go and rub one out...it will de-stress you and thus you will be thinking clearer and able to sort out the issue with the bike not starting Smile pretty smart really.
