Is not ground. It looks to me like the Black/White is an ignition power feed from the ECU. Beside that, Honda have used a green based wire colour for all ground.

It's certainly not ground, as it's carrying 12V with the ignition on. I agree with your diagnosis Wink

It's black/blue, not blue/black that provides power to the fan. By the way, the other wire on the fan is a green one, connected to ground :-P
0V, sounds good so far.

Constant power... always has power from battery.
12V, yep.

Quote:Green/Blue
Not blue/green... darn newbs. The ECU uses this to trigger the fan.
12V, so your grounding idea sounds good so far...

Quote:Aka... a wire from the Green/Blue to the switch, then the switch to ground somewhere (i.e. Frame bolt or a ground wire near where you want the switch).

That help?

I'm completely and utterly shocked that when I ground green/blue, the fan comes on! Holy shit Tony, I had my doubts about you y'know... Wink

Cheers again mate Smile

Justin.

coolant was a touch low but topped it up...although im going to pull the radiator off as its got a fair bit of muck in the fins...give it a good soaking and flush everything out.
and as viper33 mentioned, the thermostat...was going to pull things apart and check the thermostat out too.
will check to make sure the fan is actually switching on in the morning Smile

RE: How to Install a Fan Switch...
Bit off topic but ive just done this mod, Fan works great but ive fitted it with a 3 prong LED rocker switch (same as in the pic, Eclipze is using for heated handle grips) my prob is i can get the LED to work or the fan, but not together.

Ive tried a LOT of different configurations, but have no idea. anyone used a 3 prong for this mod? What config or other changes did you have to do to make it work?

RE: How to Install a Fan Switch...
Had a look... it's possible, but not suprised you've had trouble with this one. That LED in the switch is really setup for when something is powered via the centre pin. Because you're switching the fan to ground, the LED cannot light up. You'd either have ground on both sides or the + and - backwards, which the LED can't use. So the solution is to pull apart the switch, pop the LED out, and then put an LED back in with the wires mounted around the other way. Not sure if you could use the same LED in there, but I believe it's just a common 3mm LED. Would be a good time to change colour if keen Smile

Then you have the Black/Brown going to the LED terminal, the center goes to the fans Blue wire, and the supply terminal to earth (green wire). The LED will come on whenever the fan is running, either by the switch in the on position, or if the thermoswitch has trigger.

You were probably hoping for a simplier solution hahaa... but unfortunately the LED in this switch is just the wrong way around for what you need.

An alternative would be to pick another switch, or use a plain switch and a separate LED.

RE: How to Install a Fan Switch...
Eclipze you should definately make some of these fan switches and more of the headlight conversion kits and put them up on ebay. Im sure there would be a market for them as i know a few people that would be interested.
