If the cooling system is functioning properly aka fan functioning, thermoststat opening no blockages In water jackets or air in the system then bike is likely running lean. If its overheating something is faulty or incorrect and increasing cooling area or capacity is not fixing your issue.

If you race they tehy do overheat......a lot, even with everything working well, unless it's Antarctica.

Tell that to my friend who rides a XR650 (air cooled) when he gets stuck in traffic.

Honda's are good, but they're still bikes, and they can definitely still overheat even when everything is working fine.

RE: Over-heating CBR-400RR
Did you really just compare an air cooled single in traffic to a water cooled 4? And again racing is hardly normal conditions. Having read in another thread that his 400 puts out 71hp I'm actually not suprised it needed the cooling system modified and retract my statement In regard to this particular bike

You said Honda. I used a Honda bike in my example.
71 hp!? Shit that's impressive. If I remember correctly the RVF only makes 61? Gotta love inlines =P

71 with the mods he says is total BS. I know of people with extremely modded NC29s that are only nudging 68. Optimistic dyno I reckon.

RE: Over-heating CBR-400RR
Don't they only make 55hp stock standard? 71hp sounds a bit too good to be true, especially with those mods that were listed. 30% power increase? I don't think so..
