niiice!
supercheap degreaser is essentially just kero in a pressure can anyway too, btw. very nice work! do yourself a favour... one wise person said to me once.... "BUY AN IMPACT DRIVER" I haven't cheesed any heads on these soft fuckin screws yet. LOVE IT. BEST SPEND EVER. You use the right attachment... prime the driver... give it a solid whack with a rubber mallet, and then boom. the screw that wouldnt come out suddenly is undone perfectly undamaged. RE: The MaC19 project
Yeah i gotta get me one of them, would have solved alot of issues.
Alot of my fuckups were from not having the appropriate tool and refusing to put the whole job on hold until I could get the proper tool. trying to make do, leads to agony. |

RE: The MaC19 project
that has caused me problems in the past. now it's a deep breath, step away, have a cig, drive down and get the tool. and if I can't, put it aside and work on something else. edit: good thing about doing this is eventually i have all the tools I need!
![]() But yeah impact drivers are $30 + but they are SOOOOOOO fucking worth it. Seriously, I can't stress this enough. You use it so much. Also, my Trojan one is 1/2 drive, so you can take off the bit from the end for the screwdriver heads, and fit a socket to it. or a hex bit. muahahahaha Project PULSE CORN - click for thread - click for BUILD BLOG ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ |

RE: The MaC19 project
@ Aduro - Yes engine block will be painted matt black with gold on some parts.
@ Merudo - Never heard of an impact driver but will definately be purchasing one before I begin the engine. Funny I was thinking to myself that there must be something I could use to undo these screws. Oh joy.

RE: The MaC19 project
They are brilliant, they work awesomely.
Here's a good description of one that I just read - "An impact driver is a tool that delivers a strong, sudden rotational and downward force. In conjunction with toughened screwdriver bits and socket sets, they are often used by mechanics to loosen larger screws (bolts) and nuts that are corrosively "frozen" or over-torqued." RE: The MaC19 project
I've got an impact driver, But what I use is the old cordless drill set on hammer, About number three, (hammer setting).
But some jobs require the impact driver, Not much though. Does anyone use this method at all
REALLY?
