RE: Goodbye Suzuki?
the writing was on the wall for this for ages. its a shame since suzuki has actually been making good progress this year with their bike.

This shows that the crt rules are a step in the right direction.. the championship is too reliant on the factory teams which essentially limits the amount of bikes on the field... private teams, similar to F1 need to be able to compete with the factory. the way i look at crt rules is like the f1.. factories might supply engines but the chasis is developed in house by the teams. should hopefully increase the number of bikes on the field.

It's a pity. It will have a knock on effect on depuniet - is he going to wsbk now?
He had tested the suzuki in the first day of testing at valencia and was 4th fastest.

RE: Goodbye Suzuki?
Ah well Suzuki blew anyway (not just on the track). A pity only because the Rizzla scheme is so awesome.

Suzuki Motor Corporation suspends GP racing
suzuki suspends gp racing
Friday, 18 November 2011
Suzuki Motor Corporation has decided to suspend temporarily its participation in FIM Road Racing Grand Prix MotoGP from 2012.

This suspension is to cope with tough circumstances mainly caused by the prolonged recession in developed countries, a historical depreciation of Japanese Yen and repeated natural disasters.

Having an eye to returning to MotoGP in 2014, Suzuki will now focus on developing a competitive new racing machine for that class.

Suzuki will continue motocross racing activity and support of road racing activities using mass-produced motorcycles, by obtaining FIM homologation and co-operation with the supplier of its development racing kit parts.

RE: Goodbye Suzuki?
It's never good when a factory pulls out of a class of racing. Lucky the CRT rules come in next year otherwise it'd be a 3 make series. Hardly appropriate for the premier class. Although I did wonder whether Suzuki dropped out to save themselves the embarrassment of being beaten by a CRT team.

couple of seasons ago i would have agreed... for agesi kept saying that suzuki motogp should have just ran a WSBK gixer! two years ago josh waters would have out qualified zook motogp teams on his ASBK bike.. wait for it.. with his race lap times!

but this year they have been coming good! most of the season they spent in front of all of the satelite machines...

remember that test times are not always a true indication of race speed.

If randy sticks to his "no CRT" policy then he has no where to go. all of the factory and satelite seats have now been filled with Bradl taking the LCR ride couple of days ago... i would be waiting for the WSBK announcement if anyting. or bsb...
