RE: 250cc Proddies
that sounds awesome. I can't help but think an MC22 would be the gun bike in that class.
from the regs it looks like you can do a slip on/bolt on can, internal shock/fork mods, pads and fluid, air filter and the best street legal tyres you can get. the only worry is the air intake restrictors. need to find out what size restrictor they want people to run. but even then what 4 stroke 250 is better than an MC22 (asking honestly)? I can't really think of one right up to current models that would outperform one in power OR handling. providing the restrictors are big enough to allow it to run with it's full 40-45hp it would be a weapon against modern ninja250, CBR250 etc. |

RE: 250cc Proddies
this bit is the killer:
15.10.0.1 Subject to the required and permitted alterations set out below, 250 Production machines will be subject to air inlet restrictors for power parity adjustment, air restrictor dimensions will be set out in the if they hamper an MC22 with tiny restrictors and keep it down to 25hp like a ninja or CBR250R then it might struggle a bit. probably still better frame, better brakes etc but the weight penalty of a 4cyl donk vs single or twin without any power benefit will make it a bit of a nugget. the other problem is sprockets. you can't change to a 520 chain so you need to use original pitch sprockets which might limit choice a bit. |

RE: 250cc Proddies
Even with the power reduced I thought MC22's were lighter than the modern 250cc's anyway.

RE: 250cc Proddies
wonder who is gunna bother with the new 250's... the zx2r(was it officially imported) and the mc22 should make up a few entries. even with some intake restrictors.
hell even a suzuki across should have more potential than a new cbr250r ![]() Quote:"You live more for 5 minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life." Marco Simoncelli |

RE: 250cc Proddies
I am surprised they didn't limit RPM range in any way. I know they did in Moto2 though...
