lap timer phone apps
So anyone here use/tried one of the apps you can get for your phone?
I have one (GPS LAPS) that I tried to use today but couldn't figure out how to get it working, every time I started logging it would just do nothing, no data at all. Is there like something else I need to get it working? " your ambition outweighed your talent " Quote of the year! |

RE: lap timer phone apps
trackmaster for android phones. best one ive used. records g forces and all.. mine kept logging through my crash at phillip island also, and from the g forces logged, i was able to figure out what speed i crashed at etc..
also compatible with external gps receivers and can record video at the same time as logging. you using an iphone or an android phone? costs $11.50 or something tho ![]() Quote:"You live more for 5 minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life." Android. Did you just have it in your leathers or on your bike?

RE: lap timer phone apps
i went to officeworks a day before the trackday and bought a pack of velcro strips. covered up my speedo with one half of the strips, and put the other strips on the phone. connected it up that way.. it worked fine for me, and showed no signs of coming loose at all, but rubenastley also did the same and hes phone came off on the freeway on the way home.
it records with the screen off aswell, so the track marshalls dont pay too much attention to it. ![]() Quote:"You live more for 5 minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life." Marco Simoncelli |

RE: lap timer phone apps
velcro will hold it well enough, only reason mine came loose is because i re attached the velcro to another location and it lost its grip

RE: lap timer phone apps
Cool, I might give it a go. Although I have to wait until April for my next trackday so I might just buy a proper timer, or better still, buy a trackbike with one already on it....WINNAH!

RE: lap timer phone apps
I run the Pirelli Diablo Super Biker app on my iPhone...I ignore any other data other than time though as it can sometimes be off, but the time seems to be atleast close enough to correct (I'm not worried if it's not 100% correct, I just want some sort of lap time indication).
It's free so it's good enough for now. cbrrrz Wrote:I'd love to go around spending my husbands money all over the world haha |

RE: lap timer phone apps
I tried the Pirelli app.....no good.
The best I've seen is http://www.racechrono.com All you need is a compatible phone(not iPhone) and a small Bluetooth GPS receiver you can get cheap of eBay. My mate was just using and old Nokia he had spare. Lots of good features. Split times not just lap times. Easy to use and can be tucked away. |
