VIN Plate and Powdercoating
For those of you who have powdercoated/sandblasted bike frames my question to you is do you remove the VIN plate? Or does the VIN plate simply get taped up?

Drilled and re-riveted.
Use sealed rivets. And deffinately not stainless.

RE: VIN Plate and Powdercoating
They can't argue with it re-riveted, as every plate is riveted. /thread

RE: VIN Plate and Powdercoating
Technically you need to use those blind rivets.

If you use a standard issue rivet it will look dodgy as.

Tampering with VIN plates is a big no no unless you can do it mickeymouse.

Be careful.

"Mickey Mouse" has two opposite meanings.

The positive version is rhyming slang for "fuckin' grouse". The negative means shoddy/cheap/worthless.

Stupid English (I mean the language, not the people or putting curve on a ball Smile).

RE: VIN Plate and Powdercoating
If you ever see any of my project thread on my major rebuilds you may notice that I either cover up the vin plate area or take it from another angle. Basically I remove and rivet. Just put them some where safe. I lost the hornet one for about 2 days after doing a major rebuild. I sweating bolts I tell you.
