RE: Project CBR250RRi
Got more stuff done this weekend. im afraid I wont go into much detail here as Ive already updated the blog and couldnt be arsed writing it all again! Tongue

Basically the jist of it is I got my spark back. Embarassing really considering the amount of time I spent trying to diagnose the issue when in the end it was just the connection to the coils that I had unplugged at the beginning for some reason I still dont know. Rolleyes

I managed to calibrate the MAP sensor though so now its reading real pressures rather than almost twice atmospheric pressure! Its pretty sweet to see the whole thing working now with the engine running.

One thing that eluded me all weekend was an RPM signal input. I tried a few different ways. First was to use the VR signal but that was erratic and virtually non existant. Second was to try read the signal from the ignition coils ground connections. I didnt have any luck with that at all!

Third was to go back to the VR signal and try tweaking the settings in TunerStudio to try and get a readable input. I managed to make it better alright but even now its erratic and spikes all too often to read well above the actual RPM.

I will need to look into it a bit more and maybe try to figure out a circuit that can clean up the VR sensor output signal before it reaches the microsquirt. Once I can get a clean RPM signal I can go ahead with the real work of installing injectors.

RE: Project CBR250RRi
is the RPM cable running near any other cables on the bike? try splitting it right away from anything so as to reduce the amount of interference picked up in the wire. you could also try double insulating it and seeing if that cleans up the signal.
