Exclamation People sussing out my bike, need to secure it..
OK, so random thread.

Just then, a suspect car came into my unit complex. I looked out the windows and it seemed that MY carport light was turned on (from looking out the window and lining the light up with my bathroom).

I went outside to the balcony, and my neighbours were already downstairs sussing it out. The bloke asked me if I had seen that car before straight away, and explained that it was the third time tonight it had been there, and this time he thought my lights were on (which is why I was out there Angry).

I am pretty sure they are sussing out my bike...... Trying to steal the fucker!

My bike is a Leyla CBR600 - there is 20 in AUS (so I have heard and researched), so It would be very hard to replace. I now have an audible disc lock and a heavy duty disc lock on it and my window open to hear it go off with a 4x2 at my front door ready to smash fuckin heads in....

What would YOU do to secure your baby and still get some sleep?

cheers

I would rig up a motion sensor and wire it up so it sets off an alarm in your house to alert you, then run out there and crack skulls. A disk lock will only alert you when they try move it, and they could be quick and get away. Chuck a tracking device on the bike, haha. Also set up a video camera to start recording when the motion sensor is set off.

I have a bolt welded through the wall at home, that my bike is secured to every time I park. Also have a disk lock on the front.

But really, all you can do is make it look too difficult to be worth it. But at the end of the day if they really want it, and bring the right tools, then they can get it.

Really hope for your sake that they put it in the "too difficult" bag, or that they were just genuinely interested in the bike and he came back to show his mates the cool factory scheme you had.

Something like that, and an alarm in your room so you can run out when they get squirted, because they will be surprised, haha.

I would get a GPS tracking device installed on the bike, that way if it is stolen, you can track it right away Smile

I would also think about putting a chain around the wheel on the bike, the wheel the disc lock isn't on and lock it to something... I guess the thing you need to do is deter them or do enough things to make it not worthwhile or too hard to do.. having multiple things assisting you in 'locking' the bike up, can certainly be enough of a deterrent! It will take them time to remove all the locks and crap, hence the deterrent!

BEST EVAR!

But yeah, I would lock the bike somewhere else out of view where it's more secure.

Then put a bike cover over some boxes. And when they come back to steal it you can catch the LOLs when they're all confused.
