Traffics lights not recognising a bike?
These red lights in the dead of night are shitting me. Are there any tricks other than running reds or hopping off the bike to jab the light button a couple of times?
Also, are there sensors in the road that 'see' vehicles? Or does it 'feel' for metal above it. Haven't looked it up properly yet. I've heard things like chuck a magnet on the sump or try rolling over the line in front back and forth to get the lights going. What works for a bike? |

You should see cuts in the road where the sensors are, try to ride directly over the cut. If that isn't working for you, put your stand down on the crack and you should be fine. I've heard of people using magnets but I've never found it necessary, riding over the cuts does it for me.

^^ As Justin said, in fact at the corner junction is were you want to be. The side stand will only work if you stand is steel ( I haven't checked to see what bike you have)
My R6 has issues with a few lights in my area. Strangely I found Ducati's never had an issue. Wayne.......... Riderlogic Facebook Page Here - Motorcycle data logging and Analysis |

Got a cibbie.
Looks like I might park it a bit off centre when I come up to the lights next time since I remember those cuts being a square shape in the middle of the lane. I'll try the same on freshly paved roads too. |

rare earth magnet on the sump bolt will trigger the induction loop of the lights
This is my engine. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My engine is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my engine is useless. Without my engine, I am useless. |

They produce an electromagnetic field and sensors feel for variations that great big steel contraptions like cages make..
Unfortunately these are frequently fucked from roadworks and no onger work. Plank yourself in the middle of the square or whatever shape it is.

I watched it ages ago and cannot seem to find it. I think they should paint a row of diamonds above the loop. rip a burnout to get the lights attention, might see the rare blue and red behind you tho....
i usually try to avoid shitty lights or try to sit the bike completely on the boxed area with the front wheel on the outline, if that doesn't work I just sit there until another car comes or if nobody comes i run the red |

Gun it over the top of the sensor. Surge form the alternator usually trips it.
