I'd be more inclined go the other way. If I could put android on an iPhone, I'd consider one. I'm not brand loyal in any real way, I just have a problem with Apple's philosophy as a company so I avoid them. I've always acknowledged that they make good software, I'm just not a fan of their approach to delivering it.

I agree. I use the iPhone because you can't even question how much better the screen/touchscreen is than any other smartphone, and that's why I have a smartphone. Well that and a couple of other reasons too, but I can't be bothered typing lots with one hand. I've used the Galaxy on multiple occasions, my dad has the SII, and my sister had the S, the SII is great (voice recognition on my iPhone shits all over the galaxy voice recognition though) but it's only new, so if problems are going to arise, it will be in the near future. The S was shit, I would rather my old 3G over it. My other sister has a HTC, she hates it and wants an iPhone, but I liked it, so meh.

Not sure what the point of that was, haha, just explaining why I prefer the iPhone, and it's not for the OS.

As for that, that's not a fair comparison of smart phones. Apple has, by far, the most smartphone sales. That report you linked is comparing the companies as a whole, not the smartphone segments. Nokia is fuckin massive, I have about 4 Nokias lying around, but their smartphones are shit.

RE: Phone OS poll
Their meego phone was epic. And frankly they began the smartphone segment a long time before apple thought about it, Nokia just never saw them as being used by non-enterprise users, which was their downfall in the end. Just wait till their windows phones come out. I think Nokia are far from dead in the segment.

RE: Phone OS poll
I haven't actually used a windows phone platform as of yet. Can anyone offer their opinion on the interface?

I will never buy and iPhone as I am always having problems with their software. e.g. iTunes constantly crashes on all my PC's. (I have no idea why...)

Really not sure on the android TBH. But, will have to cross that bridge when I go onto a new plan.

RE: Phone OS poll
ICS is becoming available for the GS2 now. Flashed XXLPB, Android 4.0.3 a couple of hours ago and it seems pretty stable so far.
