Passing rego
Hey guys, i need to renew my registration for my CBR250RR 91".
Currently i have

1.headlight issues ( normal beam ) high beam still works
2.Horn issue - works when im at 8500 RPM << LOL

Will having a fairing missing effect the inspection?
Had my LHS Fairing STOLEN off my bike as it was parked at a Motorbike store whilst i was ordering parts. =="

ISSUES - I know this has something to do with my LHS switch, i opened it up before. My normal beam works when i put pressure on the cables.
Could be something like loose wiring to the relay? I couldn't be bothered doing it myself, afraid i might do it wrong.

Anyone confident in doing this for me please hit me up with a price. I've been scammed by the mechanics before & Really Really don't want to take it to the shop.

Note: Do not come & judge my bike. its really rough LOL bought it without knowing anything about bikes & spent alot of time trying to fix it.

RE: Passing rego
Yeah the headlights will be the left switch block. Just open it up and clean the contacts. Who the fuck steals a fairing panel too? Haha that's hilarious, sorry.

RE: Passing rego
Are you serious? Someone stole your speedo cable? Bloody hell.

Also, if you need help with the bike probably best to post a rough location (not full address, just suburb or general area) so that people know if they are nearby and can help you.

RE: Passing rego
I would suggest get it as close to factory as possible. Things like missing fairings, sticking buttons, etc could be an excuse for the inspector to fail you.

RE: Passing rego
post code is 2560/Campbelltown. i've opened the LHS switch block before, read the thread about it a while ago too. seems like the cables are soldered then siliconed ?
black silicon if i remember correctly. so what do you mean by clean up ? i dont really want to re-solder anything because its tight & seems a bit messy with cables that seem like they just reach.

Yeah outrages how my fairing got stolen. Speedo cable stolen ? you must be from my area Haha

RE: Passing rego
have you checked the headlights to see if the low beam filament is broken?

with the horn......could it be a corroded contact?

RE: Passing rego
I'll be working on a cbr250 this Saturday.

I have a side fairing you can have, well fix your horn and your lights.

I'm in Dee Why, so it's a bit over an hours ride from you.

You still have ergo I assume seeing as you're renewing? If not, notify the rta Friday and get conditional rego.
*ergo* = rego.

RE: Passing rego
He meant as in, there may be grime and dirt in between the headlight switch and the contacts making it hard to make an electrical connection. If you clean all that dirt out it will make a better connection. You may need to buy some electrical contact grease from your local hardware or automotive store so the contacts don't wear out on one another.
