Good roads in perth?

so, I have to go back to perth for work, and being a little more prepared this time i thought i might go and hire a bike for two nights and fuck off down the road for a bit. But I have no idea where is a good run for bikes. I don't want to end up going down a straight line for 800k's, so i thought I'd ask the peanut gallery (i.e. you) if you had been riding in perth berfore and where is a good place to go (margaret river would be my best bet).

Joondalup area and the coastal roads that aren't to far out seems to be an area for weekend riders last time I was there. Mundairing area maybe? Been a while since I've been there.

i think the main problem is that the whole state is pretty damn flat

joondalup is where i did my bike test today lol,

there are some nice roads around caves road that goes kind of through margaret river is pretty good and there are some good ones in the "hills"

my folks go out riding heaps with the H.O.G if u want me to ask them for some ideas

The caves road in Margaret River is the go, 2.5-3 hours to get down there iirc, then it's another 45 mins to 1 hour down to Augusta along the caves Rd. caves road is by far the most enjoyable road I found while living over there.

If you're from the eastern states you'll be underwhelmed with the Perth hills, but I recommend that you join the PSB guys for a ride out, the Thurs/Tues (alternates) weekly night rides are good fun.

The Mundaring Weir ride is ok for a weekend pub run.

oh and FYI they had a big fire down in margs a few months ago so im not sure how it looks at the moment
