TT goes global...
wanna see John McGuinness and Guy Martin go at it around the Nurburgring? it may just happen...

there are talks apparently that the IOM TT guys want it to be a world series as it will keep bringing in money for the Isle year round instead of for the short time the TT is on every year.

even though they have the road racing throughout the year it wouldnt bring in the fans and money the TT would.

discuss...

Wouldn't be the same without houses, street signs, stone walls, ditches etc etc etc only inches from the racers Smile

RE: TT goes global...
just use another really dangerous street and turn it into a track Tongue

+ Nurburg would be cool... though I'd prefer like a 8hour suzuka style race... but thats just me

Exactly.

I don't see it happening. It just wouldn't have the same atmosphere..

Maybe in Italy, or Japan?

The Macau GP track could be used as another TT venue!

RE: TT goes global...
the Nurburgring is still a race track and lacks the crazy street race aspect of the tt that makes it so exciting.
if it was to become a global series u gotta keep it as a "road race"

Who cares if the 'ring doesn't have street signs etc….Its fcuking 20.8km long!!! I would rather go and watch that than the TT, I just don't like hearing about all the deaths each year

RE: TT goes global...
They know the risks... I think the "ring" would still be epic to watch. Also they mention the races will not be time trials but proper grid starts

RE: TT goes global...
Yeah agreed, it's not REALLY about the danger, its about the time trial .. but still .. the danger and ripping through villages has a big part in it too .. and getting right up close to the track (as a spectator)

Well yeah .. what's the point then. It's just another motorbike race then Big Grin Why would it bring money to the Isle?!?!?!?!
