RE: p plate car that can tow?
Anything small/medium will be able to tow a small trailer which carries two bikes.
You can look at anything from a Lancer, to a Cruze, to a Honda Jazz (ive heard)! Maybe look for something that has an transmission oil cooler though, would probably be the go. Pumpkin, I hate pumpkin!

have you considered a van mate? could be the cheaper option.. save buying a trailer and everything that goes with it aswell.
patrol/pajero/territory should all be able to do the job id think ![]() Quote:"You live more for 5 minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life." Marco Simoncelli |

A Jazz could tow around 600kg of stuff? I'm doubtful. It would probably be illegal.

RE: p plate car that can tow?
Isnt a transmission oil cooler just for auto boxes that have a fluid torque converter?? When you’re towing up hills & slowing down the box goes from a direct gear drive back to a torque converting mode & overheats the fluid. Manual boxes don’t have a torque converter so thus not tranny cooler reqd.
That’s my understanding anyway. PM Quattro from better advice as he’s far more clued up on this shit that me. |

Towing - Braked 800 kg Towing - Unbraked 450 kg Depending how big your trailer is, might just be under. Ive heard of someone on a forum towing a car trailer and car on it with his Honda Jazz and it didn't miss a beat. I wouldn't do that, but a 2 bike trailer should be no worries even for a Honda Jazz! Seen the brakes on those things? Would hate to go down a hill while towing two bikes.

RE: p plate car that can tow?
Have a look at Subaru's. My 2.0 Liberty easily did 2 full size road bikes or 3 dirt bikes. Get a wagon/hatch as you can put heaps more in the back.
Being AWD it tows much better. With Front drive the front can get unloaded easy and you get wheel spin. For under $10K though the old falcodore is a good tow vehicle. Otherwise look at the smaller 4WD like iO's or RAV/CRV. |
