To be honest, having seen GSXR's bike it's a steal at the price he has it for. DO yourself a favour and at least get some more info

if you can get a 954, do it! Theyre fkn awesome bikes. Especially if you don't mind the exhaust-on-the-side look.. but you'd strugle to find a good cond. one for $5g.

You can pick up really good example kawasaki 636s up to 04 models for your price range.

If it's registered and in good nick, it's a lot of bike for what will end up at $6000.

vtr1000f is a great bike, comfy, good power for the road, awesome sound. Just get the post-2001 model (larger fuel tank). Plenty of luggage options and other mods for this bike available. Reg/rectifiers tend to go, i'd invest in a better one immediately (if it's not already upgraded) to avoid frying the battery. I must add, these bikes drink a lot of fuel.

954 also great, better sports package (breaks/suspension/power etc.)
