    Chinese EBay plastics

I apologize if this has already been answered in other threads, but can someone tell me if these replica plastics are clear coated over the decals?

I am thinking about trying a black set with replica OEM decals, but I am assuming they just apply the decals to black ABS????? Which would mean trying to match tank paint to the ABS? Or is it actually black paint with clear???

    Thanks!!!!!

Most aftermarket kits from China have 3 layers of clear coat over the stickers. Not every colour pattern on the fairing is a decal, they just spray all the large shapes, and use decals for logos, words, etc. Just make sure you order an injection moulded kit, not compression moulded. There are 3 major factories in China producing fairings. The cheapest ones come from a factory with very bad reputation.

In matters of matching the colours of your tank, be prepared for a "close" match, but nothing like perfect match. These Chinese factories do not use colour coding (or even know what that is), so they mix the colours "by eye" for each kit, making it impossible to guarantee a perfect match. This being said, I must say they are really good at getting very close to samples supplied on photos.

Not really. I believe the price is a good give away. eBay/PayPal charges around 10% fees, plus postage to Australia is around USD $140. When you see kits for sale for $450 and $500, subtract the fees and postage, and see how much they sell the kit for. The factory we work with is the more reliable one, and they charge us a lot more than the cheap kits on eBay, and that as wholesale price!

Great information! Thanks for the input. Certainly helps me in deciding a direction to head with the little screamer!
