Choke wont stay 'up' ??? ED: FIXED!

Did a quick search couldn't find anything related...

When i pull my choke up it falls immediately to about 1cm left then stops. just wondering what the problem could be and how i could fix it?

    Cheers,

Well 1cm on is still a fair bit, the mechanism sometimes doesn't sit fully on (it should, but things are never perfect).
So long as it isn't causing a problem for you don't worry about it.

thats 1 cm to the top bit of plastic, not exposed cable. its a bitch cause i have to stand there and hold the choke up

Check that the choke cable is routed the right way which is under the triples I think. I had that problem before and checking the route fixed it.

Has the plastic casing on the top of the cable snapped? Mine is broken and does the same thing.

Your problem is down on the carby end. Mine did this when I first got the bike, confused the hell out of me as I thought maybe it was different to a car choke and perhaps you were meant to "pump" it. As you can imagine I had a shitload of irritating winter starts. Next time you have your tank off for a carby clean which can never happen often enough :P check where the choke cable connects to the carbs.

Oh noes you have to stand next to the bike for under a minute! :P

Aduro is on the same thought as me, the carb mechanism doesn't always move perfectly.

I remember I had to tighten a nut on the bottom on the choke knob and it stopped it from pulling in by itself.
