It started when I fell in love with a $10,000 italian desiger sofa, and eventually thought it cant be THAT hard to make myself.
I found the materials and dimensions of it off the internet and decided to make it myself.
So I started drawing up blueprints for it and over time started customising (theres a sub in the LHS arm) and changing bits as I got inspiration from different designers and thought, fuck it - Im gunna come up with my own design.
This is the result.
For the materials, I still used the highest quality everything, which wasnt exactly cheap, but goddamn its a comfy sofa.
Hardest (and longest part) was definantly the fabric. Esp considering the only experience I had with a sewing machine was sewing a few pillows together as practice before starting on the sofa.
