    20 cent fork modification

I've just started rebuilding my front forks and was wondering where the 20 cent peices go when you place them in your forks. I would assume they sit in the top above the spacer but really don't know.

Also does anyone know how many millilitres of oil a fork should hold?

I know you are suppose to measure the level from the top but I was just curious. I would like a back up way of checking just incase I get it wrong.

    Thank you in advance.

    Scrooge

Yeah up the top, I would go three, I've got two in but when I get around to it I'll add an extra one in each side (Bit soft for my liking). Best to hit the search button for fluid levels, Or wait for someone to chime in Sir Scrooge.

    MC19 should have 362mL in each fork +or- 2.5mL

Also with the 20c pieces, you don't have to add them when you're doing the forks, if you find that you want the front end a bit stiffer after you test it out, just jack the bike up from the engine and make sure there's no weight on the front wheel and you can take the fork caps off and add more 20c pieces.

Wait, really?? The cap won't shoot through your eye socket? I was under the impression the 20 cent mod could only be done when you're rebuilding the forks.

If you're right, I'm doing this mod tomorrow!

That's right you can do the mod without rebuilding the forks, But make sure the front wheel is off the ground, There is a bit of pressure from the top cap but not enough to go flying across the room or poke your eye out Sir Jash, Try two 20c in each side first and then if you feel thats not enough, Then go one more in each side, I've got two in each side at the moment after my rebuild, But I'm contemplating goin one more each side, From my point of view just go the two 20c's first and see how it feels, It's easy to go another one each side then go back if it feels to stiff.
Sir Scrooge try two first and go from there as I said^^, Had another look for the bearings and still no luck for ya sorry.
