I'm not sure how it works in Perth but in Vic it doesn't matter if you bought it from the person that previously registered it. If the registration has lapsed by more than 3 months then you need to go through the process of registering it as if it was the first time it's been registered.
The clack connecter is for the small bulbs in the headlights ant the two wires comming out of the lume are for the Horn.
I think the lights always on and switch fixed is a legal thing, at least it is in Vic. When I bought mine a few years ago the dealer told me that was how he got it, but they didn't fix it because a bike always has to have a headlight on, maybe the dealer can't sell it otherwise?
Yeah, low beam must be on with engine/ignition. My import just had the switch snapped off in the on position...
What did you cover the subframe with? Mine isn't nearly as rough as yours, but there is some cancer showing so I think I'm going to clean it up while it's in a bajillion pieces.
