Bought a Rep write off CBR600RR yesterday and the plan is to turn it into a San Carlo Honda Gresini Simoncelli Replica. The plan is about 50/50 road, track but my priority is getting it track ready first. picked it up for a grand less than the asking price, so first thing ill be checking is the frame, and anything major. hopefully i can get it trackready for under 5k in total.
Ill put up a step by step guide of what im doing with the bike.
heres some pics.
so the front end suffered a big hit, and the left fork is snapped, the lower triple clamp is twisted and the right fork is slightly bent but im still going to replace the entire front end. Bit of a quick fix
first stumbling block ive come across is getting a key replaced, or a way around the hiss system. if i can remove it all together from the bike id be happy. if anyone knows of a way around it, id be glad to hear it.
the bikes being delivered asap, so ill hopefully put up some better shots soon.
my prior experience with project bikes usually ends up with just bling, so ill be trying to draw from the more mechanically experienced guys on here when possible. whoever helps me can have a session at the island
Keys Sorted. Got hold of a bloke who did them for a few hundred bucks and to match the tank and seat locks, which was obviously going to be very costly if it didnt.
Picked up a set of wheels from ebay, with rotors and less than a thousand k's on em.
also picked up a front end from the us for a couple of hundred as well.
hopefully start pulling this apart and putting it together tomorrow!
